Growth Hub, Gloucester University

Childs+Sulzmann Architects were appointed by the University of Gloucestershire to help them draw up a brief for the expansion of their business incubator space.

As a result of the success of the existing Growth Hub, which provides support and resources to growing local business and start-ups, the next phase will be three times the size (1500 m2). Linked to the new business school on the University’s Oxtalls Campus, the new space will include a business lounge, meeting rooms, exhibition space, social space and co-working space for start-ups for growing business.

We worked with the Gloucestershire LEP, local business and academics to create a brief that was not just about physical facilities but also about creating spaces that promote interaction and chance encounters between funders, academics, entrepreneurs or facilitators.
